Lunar Stages Festival Begins Tomorrow in Columbus Park — FREE!

Lunar Stages: Three Evenings of Performance and Film Under the Spring Moon kicks off tomorrow, Thursday, May 31st in Columbus Park in Chinatown, just a few blocks from school. The festival continues on consecutive Thursday evenings, June 7 & 14, 2007. FREE!

PACIFIC OVERTURES
Thursday, May 31
7:00 p.m. - Pre-show activities include tai chi, roving puppets, and interactive art projects.
7:45 p.m. - Na Lehua Melemele - Hawaiian dancers and musicians
Welcome the upcoming summer days with breezy Pacific island sounds, swaying hips and flowing hands that trace a fluid migration linking East and West.
Sundown (8:30-9:00 PM) — Outdoor screening of "Whale Rider" (2002, PG)
English with Chinese subtitles
Young torchbearers carry our precious cultural traditions forward in a changing modern world. Cheer on the 12-year old heroine of 'Whale Rider' as she challenges the status quo in her quest to lead her Maori tribe.
