
School children in New York State will have greater opportunities to enroll in public charter schools as Governor Spitzer and the State Legislature agreed on Sunday, April 1 to allow for more schools by doubling the charter school cap to 200, up from its current limit of 100—with half the increase (50) reserved for New York City.
