There is a full schedule of FREE events at the World Financial Center, in walking distance of school, including The Conga Kings concert at 12:30 PM and 7 PM on Friday, April 20. This nine-piece ensemble is led by three master congueros of Afro-Cuban music: Candido Camero, Carlos "Patato" Valdes and Giovanni Hidalgo. Between these three percussionists, they have worked with several giants of jazz and Latin music including Duke Ellington, Tito Puento, Charlie Parker and Machito.
