Coach Jon Leizman reports that the RGA soccer team captured Second Place in the New York City Charter Middle School Soccer Championship!! RGA defeated OWNCS 7th grade 3-2 in the semi-final game! Dejevan Guy scored two goals and Trevor Wan scored one. Shequel Jones and the defense of Xin Shi, Jake Waldo, and Elloys De la Rosa all played great. Elisabeth Yang had the play of the game, saving what seemed like a sure goal by sprinting and kicking the ball away just before it crossed our goal line. Hassan White, Olivia Yau, and Kenner Del Orbe controlled the ball at midfield.
In the Championship game, OWNCS eighth grade defeated RGA 2-0. RGA played extremely well, losing to a very strong squad. We are all already looking forward to our season next year!
