This morning, an election was held for Officers of the Parents Association in the Cafe at school. A group of parents was nominated as a slate: Louis Diaz, Co-President; Lisa Trollbäck, Co-President; Michelle Patton, Vice President (Middle School); Jiin Wen, Vice President (Lower School); Isadora Bolton, Treasurer; and Margaret Ng and Mary Shanahan, Co-Secretaries. Reada Edelstein was nominated as President and Albert Yau was nominated as Vice President (Middle School). The slate and Albert Yau received an equal number of votes, with Reada Edelstein off by only one vote. Due to the near three-way split in the number of votes, the Nominating Committee recommended, and parents present agreed, to a follow-up election on Saturday, June 16th during the last scheduled Saturday School morning of the 2006-2007 academic year. Please stay tuned for confirmation of this date, which is the same as for Cultural Day, a family community event planned by the Diversity Committee and spearheaded by its chair, Tanisha Gaskin.
